The six strengths
- Sthana bala — positional strength (exaltation, divisional dignity, odd/even signs, kendra, drekkana).
- Dig bala — directional strength.
- Kala bala — temporal strength (day/night, paksha, year, month, weekday and hour lords, declination).
- Chesta bala — motional strength.
- Naisargika bala — natural strength.
- Drik bala — aspectual strength.
A planet whose total meets the minimum required rupas is considered strong. Calculations follow BPHS; see our method page.
