The three friendship tables

Permanent (natural) friendship is fixed for every chart. Temporary friendship depends on placement: planets in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th and 12th from each other are temporary friends. Combining the two gives the five-fold compound relationship — great friend, friend, neutral, enemy or great enemy — used in judging dignity and Shadbala.

Frequently asked questions

What are Vedic aspects?

Every planet aspects the 7th house from itself; Mars also aspects the 4th and 8th, Jupiter the 5th and 9th, and Saturn the 3rd and 10th. Rahu and Ketu are often given the 5th and 9th.
