Punarvasu Nakshatra
Punarvasu means "return of the light" and is presided over by Aditi, mother of the gods. It is connected with restoration, optimism and a generous, nurturing outlook.
Traditional themes
Punarvasu is traditionally associated with return, restoration, generosity. Its ruling planet, Jupiter, is also the lord of the first Vimshottari Dasha for anyone born with the Moon in Punarvasu, who begins life in the Jupiter Mahadasha (16 years in full, of which only a balance remains at birth).
The Deva gana places Punarvasu among the divine (gentle, idealistic) temperaments used in nakshatra-based compatibility checks.
